Early Stage Breast Cancer Ultrasound 2023
The purpose of an early stage breast cancer ultrasound is to determine
if there are any suspicious or malignant areas in the breast.
Ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body.
A trained ultrasound technician will apply gel to the skin over the area of
interest and then move a hand-held device called a transducer across the gel.
The transducer emits sound waves that bounce off structures inside
the body and are then converted into electrical impulses.
These electrical impulses are then displayed as images on a monitor.
